Hosted by ANA-MPA and proudly sponsored by Athens Technology Center (ATC), the EANA Autumn Conference 2025 brought together Europe’s leading news agencies at the Divani Caravel Hotel to reflect on “Managing News Agencies During Challenging Times.”
The day opened with welcoming remarks by Aimilios Perdikaris (Chairman of ANA-MPA), Fabrice Fries (President of EANA & CEO of AFP), and Pavlos Marinakis (Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister & Government Spokesman), setting the tone for discussions on resilience and innovation.

A keynote the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, asked an essential question: “AI & News: What do audiences think, what should newsrooms do?” This theme ran throughout the day, as CEOs of Europe’s leading agencies — ANP, PA Media, AFP, BTA, and ČTK — shared lessons, strategies, and challenges in navigating the future of news.
In this context, ATC’s sponsorship and presentation stood out as a forward-looking response to many of the issues raised. Evi Varsou, Director of Media & Content Solutions, delivered a presentation on ‘Exploiting AI for Productive, Trusted, and Audience-Focused Newsrooms’, showcasing the capabilities now available to news organizations through newsasset PLUS, ATC’s AI-powered editorial ecosystem.
Evi demonstrated how newsasset PLUS helps agencies meet their dual challenge of efficiency and credibility. With its AI Toolkit for summarization, translations, SEO, and predictive recommendations, editorial teams gain time to focus on storytelling. Through chatbots, both for newsroom support and reader engagement, agencies can streamline workflows while building deeper audience connections. And with integrated Subscribers & Services Management, Tailored Content Delivery, and an Advanced Subscribers’ Portal, newsasset PLUS directly addresses the business side of agency operations — agility, accuracy, and new revenue opportunities.
We were especially proud to share this vision in the presence of several of our valued clients — including ANA-MPA, LUSA, PAP, and CNA — whose trust and collaboration continue to shape the evolution of our solutions.

The conference closed with a Sunset Dinner Cruise — a fitting way to continue networking and discussions in a more relaxed atmosphere. For ATC, it was not just about showcasing technology but about reinforcing our commitment to helping agencies balance innovation with trust in the digital age.
A heartfelt thank you to EANA and ANA-MPA for hosting such an inspiring event, and to all delegates for their insights. ATC is proud to stand alongside Europe’s leading agencies in shaping the future of journalism.
