Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, was once more announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the 2018 Magic Quadrant (MQ) for Product-Centric Midsize Enterprises Report, based on product-centric enterprise resource planning (ERP) products offered for deployment as cloud service applications. In specific, in its report, Gartner calls Epicor ERP “secure, economical, efficient, and reliable“.
Additionally, Epicor received the highest score in the ERP Functionality use case in Gartner’s Critical Capabilities report for Cloud ERP for Product-Centric Midsize Enterprises, which is aligned with the 2018 report.
In today’s business world, the market for ERP suites for product-centric enterprises is shifting away from on-premises systems to cloud-based ERPs. In specific, Gartner’s cloud ERP-focused report “2019 Critical Capabilities for Cloud ERP for Product-Centric Midsize Enterprises” states that by 2021 “70% of all new midmarket cloud ERP application projects for product-centric enterprises will be public cloud implementations“.
Gartner’s MQ report focuses on cloud ERP solutions that are sold, marketed and delivered as cloud services. Simultaneously, this report evaluates their vendors based on the capabilities of their cloud ERP, as well as on “their ability to market and sell these solutions to, and implement and support them for product-centric organizations“.
To be more specific, Gartner mentions that Epicor ERP in its 10th version “has a strong focus on cloud and midsize organizations, and a good vision for, and understanding of, cloud ERP. With a wide range of country localizations and languages, it can support global operations. Compared with the vendors in the MQ that focus more on small and midsize businesses (SMBs), Epicor has more comprehensive localization capabilities and does not rely on partners to localize its product“. Surveyed customers also praised its flexibility.
The Critical Capabilities report evaluates cloud ERP systems to “weigh various product capabilities, depending on the customer’s individual requirements based on industry vertical, type of operation, size, resource availability and complexity’“. As it is very well articulated ‘this reflects Epicor’s historical strength in product-centric ERP for midmarket companies’.
